Farm Tours and Barn Owls: Some Good News from a Challenging Summer
Despite a challenging summer for crops, Heathpatch welcomed 250 visitors to its 2026 farm tours, sharing insights into farming, wildlife habitats, conservation projects and renewable energy. Visitors also enjoyed learning about our thriving barn owl population, including the ringing of three healthy chicks and the encouraging sight of young owls flourishing across the estate.

Beer Festival returns to Nedging Hall
Beer in the Barn at Nedging Hall is back for 2026. The same great ales from Mauldons Brewery, a prosecco bar and cider too. Food trucks available to purchase food from. Rocking music from the Hollywood Rockbusters and party anthem DJ set from Cloud 9 Roadshow. Ticket only event with free beer glass and unlimited refills.

Honey from Sustainable Farming
Discover how phacelia flowers are helping improve soil health and biodiversity on our farm. As a cover crop, phacelia reduces compaction, suppresses weeds and returns organic matter to the soil. Known as "Bee's Friend", it also provides valuable nectar and pollen for pollinators. Learn how a chance encounter with local beekeeper Haughley Honey led to hives being placed alongside these vibrant purple fields.

James Buckle, Director at Heathpatch, has been appointed Chair of Inspire Suffolk, the independent charity supporting more than 2,500 children and young people each year. Having founded The Porch Project in Hadleigh and served as an Inspire trustee since 2023, James brings extensive experience and a long-standing commitment to improving opportunities, wellbeing and outcomes for young people across Suffolk.
