Huge congratulations to the Lionesses – EURO 2025 CHAMPIONS! 🏆 Their passion, teamwork and sheer determination lit up the tournament. What a moment for women’s football and what a message for young girls everywhere.

At Brett Vale Farming Company, our farmers already believe in the power of sport to build confidence, resilience and community. That’s why they proudly sponsored the kit for our local Hadleigh United Football Club U10s girls’ team. An easy choice for our Farm Manager, Olly, as his 9-year-old daughter, Hettie, has been playing with them for 4 years.

Hettie’s squad train on a Tuesday and play matches on Sundays. She shared with her Dad how much she loves her football, “I like playing football because it is fun and it has been a great way to make new friends”.

Dad Olly is also enthusiastic, “It's a great club and I love going to watch on a Sunday, there's often 2 or 3 games going on!”
The success of England’s women’s team shows exactly why it matters to give girls the same chances to get stuck into sport from a young age. It all starts with access, encouragement and support. Many of England’s top players started out at local clubs just like Hadleigh United. Lauren Hemp joined a youth team at 6, Lucy Bronze played on boys' teams aged 10 and Georgia Stanway grew up kicking a ball around with her brothers.
Thank you to Hadleigh United Football Club for the photos. Anyone with children interested in playing should contact the football club via the website: https://www.hadleigh-utd.co.uk/
They have quite a few squads for boy and girls for all age groups, demonstrating that there are a lot of people that still enjoy “the beautiful game”.
