We are pleased to welcome Janet Drake from Flow is Life back to Raydon Wood again this year, offering Qigong and guided Forest Bathing sessions that help people make a simple, meaningful connection with nature. Rather than being about exercise or intensity, Forest Bathing is a relaxed way of spending mindful time among the trees, slowing down and tuning into the sights, sounds and smells of the woodland.
Janet writes, “Our ancestors did not consider themselves to be anything other than Nature. As such they accepted the role of nurturing, protecting and supporting the planet and all that regard it as home. However, as time has moved on, the human race has evolved lifestyles which are eroding that role of respectful connection.”
Qigong, Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Nutrition and Massage, make up the five branches of China's traditional holistic medical system. Qigong focuses on supporting and encouraging the development of regular self-care practices, to ensure our own health and wellbeing no matter the age, gender or ability. "Think of Qigong as being preventative, restorative and a 'whole lot of fun!'"

“Forest Bathing is one of the slowing down practices that guide in reconnecting with self and with nature. Slowing down enables us to truly open to our senses and becoming aware of what is around and within.”
Time spent in forest settings like Raydon Wood has been shown to reduce stress, support mental clarity and mood, and encourage a sense of calm and wellbeing that comes from stepping out of busy daily life and into a quiet landscape. Janet’s sessions offer an opportunity to experience these benefits in a welcoming, natural environment.

Janet Drake is an accredited Nature & Therapy UK Forest Bathing Guide and Practitioner. She leads small Forest Bathing groups in Raydon’s Great Wood. To find out what Janet provides, the pricing, booking, and more information about the practice. Please go to www.flowislife.co.uk
